The concept of mentoring dates back to ancient Rome, where Mentor served as Odysseus’ trusted advisor and teacher to his son, Telemachus, in Homer’s “Odyssey". Mentor’s role has since evolved into a common noun, symbolising a reliable advisor, companion, and life teacher/coach.
